2019 SUMMER TRAINING NOW COMMENCED

Niklas on Top Form

Niklas Aarre took Bronze in discus at the England Athletics National Track & Field Championship in Bedford with a throw of 46.42 metres. He has had a great season becoming County and Inter County (10 Counties) Champion as well as fifth in the English Schools Track & Field National Championship.

Niklas is still hoping to beat his PB of 49.01 metres (which currently puts him fourth in the country) with a throw of more than 50 metres which he believes is within his grasp. Niklas thanked Daventry Leisure Centre and William Parker School for their support and help throughout the year.

Promotion for Daventry!

The Daventry Athletic Club senior team secured promotion for the first time since the Midland League combined the men & women’s competition in 2008.

Daventry secured a strong second place on the day. Michael Fenn, competed in the A Long Jump, High Jump and Javelin B coming first in all. There were great performances from the men’s team including; Jake Williams, Matthew Clarke & Andrew Fenn. The women’s team had some great results in 100m, 800m, 200m, long jump, high jump and Javelin. Abbie Barns won High Jump A, Emily Spilman won Long Jump A with Angelia Cooney winning 100m B, second in 800m A and 200m B.
